NEW DELHI: Multiple schools in the city received bomb threats on Monday. According to the fire department, officials received two separate calls alerting them to potential explosives on school premises.
The first call was received at approximately 8.50 am, reporting a bomb threat at Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan. Shortly afterward, around 9.36 am, another threat was reported at Air Force Bal Bharati School on Lodhi Road. Following the alerts, teams from the fire department, local police units, bomb detection squads, and K9 teams were immediately dispatched to both locations. As a precautionary measure, school authorities evacuated students, teachers, and staff. Comprehensive anti-sabotage checks and thorough searches of classrooms, administrative blocks, playgrounds, and surrounding areas were conducted to ensure there were no explosive devices or suspicious materials on the premises. This is not the first time schools in the national capital have faced such threats. Last Thursday, three schools in Dwarka, Najafgarh, and Paschim Vihar similarly received bomb threats, leading to evacuations and intensive searches by security agencies. Nearly a week before that incident, several other schools in Delhi received threatening emails. In those messages, the sender claimed that an explosion would occur at approximately 1.11 pm on a Monday. The email further alleged that Parliament would be targeted at 1.11 pm on Feb 13. Last month as well, multiple schools across Delhi received similar threat emails.
