Pune: The Dehu Road police on Monday arrested three men and recovered five stolen motorcycles and an autorickshaw worth Rs 5 lakh from their possession.Police said the trio had stolen the two-wheelers from various parts of Pimpri Chinchwad over the past three months.

A police team led by senior inspector Vikram Bansode arrested the accused identified as Ishwar Gaje (22) of Khalumbre village, and Aniket Vitkar (20) and Aryan Raut (19), both residents of Moshi.An officer from Dehu Road police said the team received a tip-off about a man riding a motorcycle without a registration number plate. “We chased and apprehended the rider, who was identified as Gaje. During interrogation, he admitted to stealing the motorcycle from the Dehu Road area and told the names of two accomplices.“We subsequently arrested the other two accused and recovered four more motorcycles and an autorickshaw from them,” the officer said.The officer added that the police have so far solved six theft cases linked to the accused, including four registered with the Pimpri Chinchwad police and two with the Pune police.
