Dalata Hotel Group has officially opened its newly renovated Shared Service Centre (SSC) on Cork’s Parnell Place.
The refurbished office occupies a previously unused space within a building that has formed part of the Maldron Hotel since 2019. The company, which also operates the Clayton hotel brand, said the new office has capacity for more than 45 employees.
The premises at 17 and 18 Parnell Place had formed part of the redevelopment of the site for the Maldron Hotel. The Parnell Place section was to include a retail element, but remained unimplemented. The company lodged fresh plans last year to change its use from retail to a hotel office and administration use. Permission for the change was granted in July.
The SSC was established in 2017 with just one worker and has grown to a team of 20 today. Its focus is on finance transformation and centralising finance administration from the 56 hotels that comprise the group, across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Last July, a consortium of Nordic hotel companies announced a €1.4bn takeover of Dalata, which was accepted by the company’s board.
The group said the SSC provides additional scalability and improved control and data gathering, and underlines its long-term commitment to supporting its growing employee base.
Dermot Crowley, CEO, Dalata, said: “The opening of our Cork Shared Services Centre marks a proud milestone in the Dalata journey. From its beginnings in 2017 as a one-person operation, it has grown into a dynamic, high-performing team that plays a vital role in how we operate today.”
“The SSC team brings expertise, agility and an incredible team spirit to everything they do – helping us deliver on our growth ambitions across Ireland, the UK and Europe,” he said.
