Jaipur: Chief secretary V Srinivas Tuesday said central deputation was not only a cadre requirement for Indian Police Service (IPS) officers but also a key opportunity for professional growth, adding that experience gained at the Centre ultimately strengthened state administration. He said this at an interaction with IPS officers eligible for central deputation, held via video conferencing at the secretariat. Srinivas urged officers to make timely and well-considered career decisions and to contribute to central services when eligible.

DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma said officers from the 2011 batch onwards must complete at least two years of central deputation at the SP or DIG level, which he described as essential exposure before appointment to senior posts.During the meeting, officials of the personnel department briefed officers on eligibility norms and tenure for central deputation. tnn
