Madhepura: Armed miscreants opened indiscriminate fire at the residential office of a cooking LPG agency owner under the Chausa police station area in Madhepura early Monday. The shootout reportedly took place around midnight when the residents, including the agency owner, were asleep.According to police, agency owner Satya Prakash Gupta learnt about the incident on Monday morning and informed the local police. A team reached the spot and recovered several empty cartridges. CCTV footage from the area shows two youths arriving on a motorcycle, firing multiple rounds, and then fleeing.Police are investigating the motive behind the attack. However, locals claimed that the firing was linked to an extortion demand from the agency. “Police are probing the incident to identify those involved in the shootout, and they will be arrested soon,” said Uda-Kishunganj SDPO Avinash Kumar.
