Criminal injured, aide nabbed after encounter

Varanasi: A criminal was injured while his associate was arrested in Oonjh police station area of Bhadohi district on the intervening night of Jan 25 and 26. The person injured was sent to hospital for treatment. Both were wanted in several criminal cases. According to reports, during a drive to check suspicious objects and vehicles by a joint team of Oonjh police station and SOG, the criminals were nabbed in a case registered under sections 303(2)/317(2)/317(4)/317(5) BNS. Following the police encounter at Meenapur village, Rajesh Kumar Bind, resident of Chhannaura village in Durganganj police station of Bhadohi district and Bablu Kumar, resident of Kantirampur village in Suriyawan police station of Bhadohi district, were arrested. Bhadohi SP Abhimanyu Manglik said Rajesh had more than 45 cases registered against him. For past few days, he and members of his gang were active in Oonjh, Handiya and other village areas of Allahabad border. Whenever they got chance, they would steal submersible motors and commit petty thefts. Based on information, police took action, in which Rajesh was hit in his right leg and all stolen goods were recovered from a scrap shop on information given by Bablu.
