Chennai: CPM MLA V P Nagaimali on Thursday accused the city police of behaving undemocratically during a protest by the party condemning the arrest of Venezuela President Maduro, in front of the US embassy.Mali said in the assembly that the party’s senior functionaries, such as former state secretary G Ramakrishnan, were ill-treated by the police, who did not understand the nature of their protests. “The police kept our party functionaries inside the police vehicle and roamed around the city for more than three hours,” Nagaimali said.
