Patna: CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya on Monday urged members of the party’s agricultural and rural workers’ union to prepare for a sustained agitation against what he termed the “bulldozer terror” being unleashed by the state govt in rural areas. He also highlighted other issues, including the revision and reformulation of the MGNREGA scheme by the central govt.Bhattacharya made the appeal during a one-day conference of the union held on the Gait Public Library campus, where he detailed the challenges faced by rural workers and the state. He accused both the central and state govts of pursuing anti-people policies. “In the last 20 years, the Nitish govt failed to implement land reforms and is now adopting a bulldozer model of justice, imitating BJP-ruled states,” Bhattacharya said.He also alleged that voter names were being deleted in the name of identifying “ghoospaithiyas” (Bangla infiltrators), poor people were being targeted under encroachment drives, and corporates were being allocated land at minimal cost.He further highlighted rising violence against women and girl students, the increasing crime rate, divisive UGC regulations, and reduced sectoral allocations for health and education in the Union Budget.
