Ghaziabad: A district court on Saturday allowed the Institute of Management Education society to sell its multiple land parcels in Sahibabad tehsil to raise funds and purchase land parcels in metropolitan cities. The society sought permission to sell the plots, measuring 4.9 hectares in total, which were vacant after the closure of a few colleges and hostels, including the SDV Girls Degree College and IME campus. The court asked the society to complete the process within three months after publishing an advertisement in a newspaper, as the order will automatically stand cancelled after that.Judge Vinod Singh Rawat granted permission to sell the properties, including multiple parcels in Duhai, Pasunda, and Kadkad Model villages, and house properties at Takiya Pasunda, along with additional specified plot numbers in Duhai and Kadkad Model.Directing the society to sell the land parcels at the highest rate, the court said the sale deed shouldn’t be executed without its permission and added that proceeds from the sale be used transparently only for the society’s purposes, warning that any violation would render the order ineffective. The society’s secretary, Har Prasad Gupta, told the court that he and Chatar Singh were authorised by the executive committee through a resolution dated June 29, 2025, to present the application and represent the society in proceedings. The society, in its AGM of June last year, passed a resolution proposing the sale of 4.9 hectares of land associated with SDV Girls Degree College and the IME Institute in Duhai, Kadkad Model, and Pasunda. An NOC from the founding chairman of the committee, Sheela Devi, was placed before the court, stating that the proceeds would be used to acquire land in metropolitan cities to open an educational institution. The court noted that a public notice was published inviting objections, but no objections were received.
