Cork toppled Dublin in the central GAA payment list for 2025.

Dublin have regularly headed the county table but last year Cork received €2.271m compared to Dublin’s €1.723m.

Factoring in their €3.1m capital grant for the construction of their new stadium in Dundalk, Louth were the biggest beneficiaries with €4.035m.

However, Cork were the largest recipients of current payments. They received a games development grant of €1.072m along with €299,177 in rent, €361,540 in competition distribution and €317,480 in team and player expenses.

Dublin’s €1.2m game development contribution from Croke Park remains the highest but they were given just over €8,000 in rent, €174,410 in competition distribution and €126,034 in expenses. In 2024, Dublin were given €1.93m in contrast to Cork’s €1.6m.

Behind Louth and Cork were Meath with €1.918m although they also received a capital grant of €946,875 towards the rebuilding of Páirc Tailteann.

Monaghan makes three changes for Saturday’s Division 1, Round 3 clash with Dublin in Croke Park from the side that began the defeat to Roscommon.

Ryan Wylie, Micheál McCarville and Stephen Mooney are due to replace Ryan McAnespie and Ronan Boyle, who are listed on the bench, and injured Louis Kelly.

Like Kelly, Ryan O’Toole recently suffered a hamstring issue but is named to start in defence. McCarville makes his first start of the season having come off the bench in Round 2.
