Cops crack murder case near toll plaza, 1 held, minor detained

Jaipur: City police Thursday claimed to have cracked a murder case after a 40-year-old man was found with his throat slit near Sitarampura toll plaza on Ring Road in the Sanganer Sadar area Tuesday.DCP (South) Rajarshi Raj Varma said that the main accused was identified as Inayat Hussain (24), while a juvenile accomplice was detained. Varma said the victim was identified as Sattar Khan (40), who succumbed to his injuries at SMS Hospital after being referred from a private hospital. According to police, information was received around 3.30pm Tuesday through the police control room about a man with his throat slit near the toll plaza. By the time police reached the spot, the injured man was shifted to a private hospital. He was later referred to SMS Hospital where doctors declared him dead. The crime scene was secured, and an FSL mobile unit was called for evidence collection. A complaint was later lodged by the victim’s uncle, who stated that Sattar left home after receiving a call from Hussain. A few hours later, the family was informed by police that the victim was brought to hospital in a grievously injured condition. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the BNS, and the investigation was taken up. Police said technical surveillance and local intelligence helped trace the suspect quickly. The accused and his juvenile accomplice were apprehended within hours of the crime. During interrogation, police found that the accused bore a grudge against the deceased over a pending payment related to a second-hand e-rickshaw sold to him. Police said the accused allegedly called the victim by gaining his trust, consumed liquor with him, and later took him to a secluded stretch near the toll plaza, where his throat was slit using a sharp weapon with the help of the juvenile. Police said further investigation is under way, and the juvenile was produced before the court.
