Kanpur: During a district-level Aadhaar monitoring committee meeting held here on Friday, district election officer Jitendra Pratap Singh on Friday has instructed the officials to dispose of all Aadhaar applications for people above 18 years of age within a maximum of 45 days.The pending cases of the 5-7 years age group (MBU-1) and the 15-17 years age group (MBU-2) were reviewed in the meeting. Instructions were given to complete the Aadhaar enrolment campaign for children aged 0-5 years. He said that the new academic session was going to start from April for which Aadhaar would be required at the time of admission. Hence special attention should be given to child Aadhaar saturation, the DM said.

There were 241 active Aadhaar kits in the district. Since January 2026, 9,093 new Aadhaar cards were created, while 69,618 Aadhaar cards were updated. UIDAI ASK Centres generated the highest number of new Aadhaars at 2,189 and updated at 19,716. India Post Payment Bank generated 1,253 new Aadhaars and updated 3,781 through its 67 kits.The district magistrate directed that pending verification cases involving centenarians aged 100 years or older be resolved with the highest priority. He directed that all such cases be resolved immediately on the Aadhaar Verification Portal. Instructions were also given to immediately activate the inactive Aadhaar kits under the Registrar and bring them into operation, so that the enrolment and update work could be expedited.The DM directed the departments concerned to regularly review the progress. Chief Development Officer Deeksha Jain, the Basic Education Officer and officials from the departments concerned were present in the meeting. He also reviewed the schemes listed on the CM dashboard.He said that special camps should be set up in all the zonal offices of the municipal corporation for making family IDs and it should be ensured that family IDs of all the government employees were made. Instructions were given to complete the projects listed on the CMIS portal in a timely and quality manner.
