Lucknow: The prevailing cold wave conditions during the evening and night hours in Lucknow are likely to abate from Thursday with the rise in minimum temperatures by a few degrees. The daytime weather, which has been ‘warm’ this week due to bright sunshine, will also remain the same, the weatherman has predicted.

On Wednesday the maximum and minimum temperatures were 21.5 and 6.1 degrees Celsius, respectively. Moderate fog during morning hours and clear sky later is expected on Thursday, with maximum and minimum temperatures to be around 21 and 6 degree Celsius, respectively. The weather office has predicted light rain and drizzle on Jan 19 in western UP while eastern part of the state will remain dry.“There will be a gradual increase in minimum temperatures in Lucknow and UP from Thursday owing to a western disturbance,” said senior scientist Mohammad Danish of the state Met department. He said that due to the influence of two successive western disturbances, a gradual increase of 4-6°C in minimum temperatures in Lucknow and other parts of UP is expected over the next 5-6 days. The fog will dissipate after the morning hours, leading to pleasant weather during the day, Danish added.Meanwhile, across UP, weather is likely to be dry. Dense to very dense fog may occur at a few isolated places in west and east UP.
