Lucknow: Warning the state against casteist and dynastic politics, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that whenever Uttar Pradesh moved on the path of development, such forces would raise their heads and try to derail the process.Saying that UP had shed its old ‘BIMARU’ image and had emerged as a breakthrough state with a new identity, the CM said that casteist and dynastic forces are unable to tolerate this transformation. “These are the same forces that earlier patronised rioters and lawlessness, they used to bow before them. Such forces will attempt to raise their heads once again because their leaders will be pushing them from behind, directing them to create chaos and riots since they have been paid for it.

But they also know what UP govt does with rioters,” the CM said, adding that UP was no longer Upadrav Pradesh, but Utsav Pradesh.

The CM was addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the Khajanchi Chauraha flyover in Gorakhpur, built at a cost of Rs 96.50 crore and the Bargadwa-Nakaha rail over bridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 152.19 crore.Asking people to recall the situation in the state before 2017, the CM said that UP was in the grip of fear, terror, chaos, disease and riots. Nobody was safe and everyone knew who was responsible for it, he said. Those who practiced caste based politics, spoke only about their families and played with the future of UP’s youth. They created an identity crisis for the state and its young population, he added.“After 2017, UP was able to focus on solutions rather than problems. To secure a bright future for the coming generations, it is essential to continue the journey of development and strengthen the environment of security.

By ensuring security and creating a robust infrastructure, the double-engine govt has ushered in an investment boom. By converting scale into skill, govt is providing employment and jobs to youth in their own regions,” the CM said, highlighting that investment proposals worth Rs 45 lakh crore had created employment opportunities for more than 1.5 crore youth in the state. The development of the state was reflected in the changes being witnessed in Gorakhpur, he said.

A long industrial corridor is being constructed between GIDA and Dhuriyapar, providing local youth with jobs close to home. The city, he said, was no longer identified with mafia, mosquitoes or encephalitis, but with world-class roads and infrastructure. The markers of this change were four-lane connectivity, link expressways, GIDA as an investment hub, fertilizer plants, AIIMS and other projects like roads connecting Gorakhpur to Sonauli, Lucknow and Varanasi, supported by link expressways. “Ramgarh Tal, once a breeding ground for criminals and mosquitoes, has become a new identity for the city. Gorakhpur is emerging as a new skill hub, contributing to the vision of a Viksit Bharat,” the CM said.He stressed that development would no longer remain the legacy of any one family or region.
