Bathinda: The chief minister health scheme – Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojna – will officially commence from Jan 22, Punjab health and family welfare minister Dr Balbir Singh said on Tuesday.The minister was speaking at Barnala after attending a meeting with the officials of the district administration, health and police departments regarding the health scheme and the state govt’s ‘war against drugs’ campaign.
He said under the CM health scheme, every family would receive cashless treatment facilities worth Rs 10 lakh annually. Govt hospitals, medical colleges, and around 650 private hospitals are enlisted under the scheme, the minister added.In Barnala district, camps will be set up at 247 locations as per the schedule, covering all 162 villages and 85 wards. Every family will be given a registration slip, said Dr Balbir Singh.Responding to the queries from the mediapersons, he said continuous recruitment was underway to address the shortage of doctors; 1,400 general duty medical officers were recruited, and 170 more doctors would join soon, while specialists were also being recruited. In addition, staff nurses are also being recruited.The minister, meanwhile, said padayatras commenced in villages under ‘Yudh Nasheyan Virudh 2.0′. Additionally, emphasis is being placed on bringing drug addicts back to the mainstream through skill development.Barnala DC T Benith, SSP Mohammad Sarfraz Alam, civil surgeon Dr Haripal Singh, and chairman of the district planning board Parminder Singh Bhangu were present in the meeting.MSID:: 126506302 413 |
