City to host mass wedding for fatherless girls

Surat: A mass wedding ceremony for 101 fatherless daughters will be organized by Yashvi Foundation Charitable Trust in the city on March 14.This marked the foundation’s third all-community mass wedding initiative.The programme began in 2024 with the marriage of 21 daughters, followed by 51 weddings in 2025. In its third year, the foundation expanded the initiative to include marriages for 101 daughters.

“We share the same emotions and enthusiasm that a family experiences when a daughter begins a new chapter in life. Our aim is to conduct all wedding rituals with full responsibility—from the Paanetar ceremony and mehendi function to complete wedding arrangements, including customary gifts,” said one of the organizers.The foundation has also been organising Navratri celebrations for cancer patients for the past three years.
