The 30-member brass band team of City Montessori School, Kanpur Road, won second prize at the All-India level while representing Uttar Pradesh in the National School Band Competition. The competition was jointly organised by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education, Govt of India, on Republic Day, at National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi. The team was honoured with trophy, and a cash award of Rs 31,000.
