Surat: The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) on Wednesday declared the results of its final and intermediate examinations, with Surat students delivering a strong performance.Deshna Jain secured All India Rank (AIR) 5 in the final examination. In the intermediate exam, Deep Gajera secured AIR-5 and Lokesh Patil bagged AIR-6.In the final examination, four students from Surat featured in the Top-50 rank list — Deshna Jain (5), Palak Agrawal (17), Pratik Valeja (30) and Harsh Shah (35). In the intermediate course, 14 Surat students secured ranks in the Top-50, taking the city’s total tally to 18 ranks across both levels.The intermediate rank-holders from Surat include Jinal Kothari (13), Bhavin Vora (20), Aditi Mundhra (24), Mudit Jain (35), Krishna Sharma (36), Vibhuti Adhav (39), Shyam Lahoti (40), Dhaval Shiyali (40), Jinay Sanghvi (43), Saurabh Purohit (46), Vinayak Luhar (48) and Ankit Pandav. Nine of the 14 rankers are from Ravi Chhavchharia’s institute.Deshna Jain, who is pursuing BCom at SD Jain College and completed her schooling at Hill’s High School, said she plans to gain work experience before starting her own venture. “Consistency, online classes and dedicated efforts helped me achieve this rank,” she said.According to CMA Surat South Gujarat Chapter chairman Kishore Vaghela, 863 students appeared for the intermediate exam, of whom 155 cleared both groups and 133 passed one group. In the final exam, 199 students appeared, with 48 clearing both groups and 19 passing one group. The pass percentage stood at 24% for the final exam and 18% for the intermediate exam.
