CISF returns 50k left on airport x-ray belt

Ahmedabad: A passenger travelling from Ahmedabad to Goa inadvertently left behind a bundle of cash totalling Rs 50,000 at the security hold area of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday.The incident occurred at the security check point when Hardik Dave, after completing the screening process, accidentally dropped the cash on the output roller of the X-BIS machine and proceeded towards the departure gate. An alert personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), noticed the unattended currency on the conveyor belt.

Acting swiftly, the team secured the cash and initiated efforts to trace its owner. Through CCTV surveillance and coordination with airport staff, CISF personnel were able to identify and locate the passenger before his departure. After completing the necessary verification and documentation formalities, the cash was handed over to Dave.
