Under the Chief Minister’s Samuhik Vivah Yojana, the Uttar Pradesh government provides financial assistance for the marriage of marriageable girls, widows and divorced women to the needy and deprived families living in poverty and their marriages are solemnized in the program according to their social religious beliefs, customs and traditions.The objective of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Samuhik Vivah Yojana is to promote social support and religious harmony in society. Under this scheme, the Uttar Pradesh government provides an amount of Rs. 51,000 per couple, out of which Rs. 35,000 is transferred to the bride’s bank account for happiness in her married life and to purchase household items. And gift items worth Rs. 10,000 are given to the bride and Rs. 6,000 are spent to make the ceremony grand.

 Purpose of Chief Minister Samuhik Vivah Yojana

This scheme has been started by the Uttar Pradesh government to stop child marriage, promote education and for the social welfare of poor families. For those families who are not able to marry their daughters in a proper manner due to poverty, the government organizes mass marriage ceremonies. Under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme, along with financial assistance, the daughters of poor families are also given the gift of establishing family life.

Benefits and features of Chief Minister Samuhik Vivah Yojana

1. Chief Minister’s Samuhik Vivah Yojana is a mass marriage scheme for marriageable couples from poor families of Uttar Pradesh.
2. Under the Chief Minister’s Samuhik Vivah Yojana, the organization of group marriage is done by the District Social Welfare Officer, supervisor of the District Magistrate, at the urban body, Nagar Panchayat, Municipal Council, Municipal Corporation Area Panchayat, District Panchayat Ward district level.
3. All such families of Uttar Pradesh government who are financially weak, poor and needy will be able to take advantage of this. For the marriage of couples from poor families, wedding gifts and clothes, gold and silver toe rings, anklets, steel sets, pressure cooker, trolley bag, when it kit and wall clock are provided today.

   Under the scheme, the state sends an amount of Rs. 35,000 to the bank account of the daughter of a couple from a poor family.
5. Poor families, widows and divorced women of Uttar Pradesh can also avail the benefit of Chief Minister Samuhik Vivah Yojana!

Eligibility and conditions for Chief Minister Samuhik Vivah Yojana

• The Uttar Pradesh government has set some essential eligibility criteria to avail the benefits of this scheme on the basis of which couples can get the benefit of this scheme.

•  The guardian of the girl should be a native of Uttar Pradesh.
• The girl’s charges should be ignored, poor and needy!
•  The maximum income limit of the applicant’s family should be ₹200000.
• If you are married, then in the application, the age of the daughter must be 18 years or more on the date of marriage and the age of the daughter should also have completed 21 years on the third day of marriage. For confirmation of age, school educational record, birth certificate, voter card, Aadhar card, MNREGA job card etc. will be valid.
•  The girl may be married or a widow or a divorcee who has been legally divorced and should be remarried.
• Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes will have to submit caste certificate.
• The girl inspected for marriage, daughter of a widow woman, daughter of a disabled person, a girl who is herself disabled are given priority first.
