Kanpur: Chhattisgarh defeated UP by 7 wickets in a pool league match of the Under-23 cricket tournament for the Col CK Nayudu Trophy, held at BSP Stadium, Bhilai, on Monday.Chhattisgarh, with a first-innings lead of 51 runs, wrapped up UP’s second innings for 158 runs. Thereafter, they scored the required 109 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 26 overs and won the match.Ealier, UP resumed its second innings on Monday morning from the overnight score of 4 for 73, and the remaining 6 batsmen added 87 runs. Mohd Aman and Rituraj Sharma were the main scorers in the second innings, contributing 49 and 38 runs respectively. Deepak Yadav and Varun Singh both scalped 3 wickets each.In reply, Chhattisgarh lost both openers, Pratham and Shobhit Chealy, but Harsh Sahu and Sahil Rajat repaired the early damage. Sahil later, in the company of Rahul Pradhan, completed the formality of victory.
