CHENNAI: The body of an unidentified man, suspected to be a guest worker, was found stuffed inside a bloodstained gunny bag near a two-wheeler showroom at Indira Nagar in Adyar on Monday morning.Locals, on finding the sack on First Avenue, alerted the Adyar police, who opened it and found the body of a man aged around 40 years, with injuries indicating that he was murdered.Preliminary investigation revealed that two suspects came on a motorcycle and dumped the sack at the spot around midnight on Sunday. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being analysed to trace the motorcycle using its registration number.Fingerprint and forensic experts examined the scene and collected evidence. The body was sent to Govt Royapettah Hospital (GRH) for postmortem.Police are also verifying records of missing people reported in Chennai over the past week to establish the identity of the deceased.
