Chandigarh MC announces 48-hour water shutdown for pipeline repair

Times News NetworkChandigarh: Due to urgent repair and replacement work on the PSC pipeline (Phase-III) with a spiral-welded MS pipeline at Sukho Majra village (Punjab) on Sirhind–Morinda Road, the MC announced a shutdown for a period of 48 hours from Jan 30 to Jan 31, 2026. During this shutdown period, the pumping of raw water from Phase-III (Kajauli) to Water Works, Sector 39, Chandigarh will remain suspended. Residents are requested to make necessary arrangements in advance and cooperate with the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh during this period of essential maintenance work.Consequently, the water supply in Chandigarh will be regulated as per the following schedule:Jan 30, 2026Morning Supply: 3:30am to 9am — Full PressureEvening Supply: 6pm to 8:30pm — Low PressureJanuary 31, 2026Morning Supply: 3:30am to 9am — Full PressureEvening Supply: 6pm to 8:30pm — Low Pressure
