Agartala: CPM state secretary and Tripura leader of the Opposition, Jitendra Chaudhury, has accused central investigative agencies, including the CBI, income tax department and the Enforcement Directorate, of ignoring alleged wealth accumulation by ruling BJP ministers, MLAs and leaders in the state.Addressing a rally during the 23rd Central Conference of the CPM’s tribal wing, the Ganamukti Parishad (GMP), Chaudhury said the agencies’ inaction in Tripura contrasted with what he described as “their active pursuit of opposition leaders in other states.”Chaudhury alleged that over the past eight years, BJP leaders’ financial growth in Tripura had been driven by “widespread corruption,” and claimed this had resulted in little focus on development in the Autonomous District Council (ADC) areas.Responding to CM Manik Saha’s allegations of misuse of funds in the ADC, Chaudhury proposed setting up an inquiry commission to investigate the alleged discrepancies.BJP secretary Devid Debbarma said, “CPM has forgotten their past and now attempted to malign our govt just visualising their experience. This govt is the most transparent and pro-people administration.”
