CBSE holds capacity building programme for middle school teachers to strengthen skill education

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a capacity-building programme for middle school teachers from Wednesday to strengthen the implementation of skill education in classes VI to VIII. In an official notification, the board said the training sessions are being held across cities — including Delhi, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad — and will continue through Feb. The workshops are being conducted by CBSE’s skill education division and are meant for principals, vice-principals and teachers. The programme focuses on practical classroom application using NCERT’s Kaushal Bodh textbooks. Teachers will be trained in interdisciplinary approaches to help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and real-world competencies alongside academic learning. Selected CBSE-affiliated schools will host the workshops. CBSE will identify master trainers during the programme to enable wider dissemination of skill education practices. The board said the initiative is part of its broader effort to translate policy into classroom practice by improving teacher readiness and strengthening familiarity with the updated curriculum framework. Regional and head offices have been instructed to ensure wide communication so that eligible educators across affiliated schools can take part in the programme.
