Prayagraj: The UP Board has warned that finding cash in an answer sheet during the 2026 exams will be seen as cheating, and both the student and invigilator will face strict action for dereliction of duty.Board secretary Bhagwati Singh stated that some students had previously inserted cash into answer booklets, possibly thinking it would boost their marks. However, the board’s stance is clear — this is indiscipline and won’t be tolerated during the evaluation process.Any found cash should be deposited in the treasury immediately, and the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) must be informed for action under the UP Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, he said.Centre superintendents have been instructed to inform students in advance that placing any unauthorised material, including currency notes, inside answer sheets is strictly prohibited. Invigilators are required to remain vigilant and ensure a secure, orderly, and fear-free examination environment. All arrangements, including seating, invigilator deployment, and distribution of examination materials, must be finalised well before the exams begin.Additional chief secretary, secondary education, Parth Sarathi Sen Sharma, conducted a review via Zoom with DIOS, directing the timely completion of preparations and prompt disbursal of advance funds for examination work. In Prayagraj, question papers for 333 centres were delivered under tight security by Friday night, with continuous monitoring of strong rooms. Unauthorised entry was barred, and 8 flying squads will begin inspections from Saturday. Static magistrate duties were revised to prevent lapses.
