Cartridge in baggage, flyer held back

Varanasi: Following recovery of a cartridge during scanning of his baggage at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport here, CISF personnel stopped a passenger from boarding the Varanasi-Delhi AI1870 flight and handed him over to Phoolpur police on Saturday. Phoolpur police station in charge Atul Singh said that Anand Pandey (65) of Mirzapur district, who has a business in Dehradun, owned a licensed pistol and one of its cartridges remained in his bag by mistake.Police further said that Pandey brought the arms licence and produced it before police, following which, he was allowed to go home after being issued a warning. Since the entire exercise took up several hours. Pandey missed the flight.
