Kolkata: Bengal cabinet on Tuesday gave the go-ahead to the creation of 20% additional posts across various pay levels for different state services. At the meeting, CM Mamata Banerjee said that Bengal didn’t have enough SDO-level officers. She also posted on X about this.The CM also announced that a committee will examine promotional avenues for officers. WBCS (Exe) officers, she said, would be on probation for two years, followed by a three-year posting as BDOs. The committee will evaluate this progression, the CM said, adding that there will soon be more districts in Bengal. “The CM said officers of all cadres will get chances for promotion,” a source said.
