Buxar DM orders removal of encroachment, calls for traffic reforms

Buxar: District magistrate (DM) Sahila on Saturday carried out an inspection of key sites in Buxar town, and issued strict directives on cleanliness, traffic regulation, encroachment removal and the pace of ongoing development works.The DM reviewed arrangements at Qila Maidan, the old bus stand, the Light and Sound complex and nearby areas. She directed officials to ensure better civic management and faster completion of pending projects.

The DM ordered that the road leading to the guest house be declared a “no-vehicle zone” and kept free from general traffic. The executive officer of the Buxar Municipal Council was asked to install information boards and ensure strict enforcement of the order.Expressing displeasure over traffic congestion between Model Police Station and Tadka Nala, caused by illegal shops and parked vehicles, the DM directed officials to launch a special drive to remove encroachments. She also instructed that a proper parking facility be developed at Ramrekha Ghat within 15 days for the convenience of devotees.While reviewing the Light and Sound project, the DM directed repair of approach roads, regular cleaning and plantation of trees along the roadside. She asked officials to complete the project at the earliest and put in place a permanent system for its operation and maintenance.She also instructed officials to prioritise renovation of the stage at Qila Maidan, laying of paver blocks, painting of walls from the old bus stand to the Ramlila stage, and improvement of the drainage system.During the inspection, the condition of Jawahar Middle School was found to be unsatisfactory. The DM sought an explanation from the headmaster and directed the district education officer, (DEO) Sandeep Ranjan to take necessary action.
