Budget sets 25-year vision for growth: Saha

Agartala: Tripura CM Manik Saha praised the Union Budget 2026, calling it a forward-looking plan to help India achieve the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.He congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting what he termed the “Viksit Bharat Budget,” saying it sets out a 25-year vision for inclusive and sustainable growth.

Saha said the Budget prioritises manufacturing, world-class infrastructure, healthcare, tourism and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.He also pointed to measures focused on rural development, women’s empowerment, youth aspirations and farmer welfare, saying the initiatives aim to convert aspirations into outcomes across both urban and rural areas.The CM welcomed allocations for modern sports facilities and the development of sacred pilgrimage sites, saying these steps would strengthen India’s push to become self-reliant and globally competitive.He said the Budget reflects the govt’s commitment to equitable and inclusive development, ensuring benefits reach all sections of society while reinforcing India’s standing as a rising global leader.
