Alwar: The body of operator of a Pokeland machine, who was trapped under a sliding rock during mining operations in the mining area of Odela village in the Ramgarh police station area of Alwar district, was recovered on the ninth day on Saturday. After a rescue operation that continued for nine days, a joint team of NDRF and SDRF recovered the body of Ramanand (25), a resident of Bihar. The body was found trapped under a large rock inside the water-filled mine.The incident occurred on Feb 6 during mining work, when a part of the hill suddenly cracked, causing the Pokeland machine along with the operator to sink into a deep water-filled pit.
Following the incident, the administration launched a large-scale rescue operation. In the initial days, relief work faced difficulties due to strong currents and excessive waterlogging. The Pokeland machine was first pulled out with the help of heavy machinery. Large motors were then installed to pump out the water filled in the mine, and they continued running for several days.TNN
