Ahmedabad: Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Ahmedabad appealed to the citizens to donate blood on Valentine’s Day to celebrate the festival of love, and the citizens responded with 169 units.Dr Vishwas Amin, secretary of the society, said that the figure indicated both in-house and camp collections during the day. “The appeal was for the kids with Thalassemia major who get blood transfusions regularly at Red Cross. Thus, the day truly marked the city’s passion and zeal for the cause, which made the day about love,” he said.“People from all walks of life participated in the initiative.”
