Varanasi: Scores of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha office-bearers and workers burnt the effigy of Rahul Gandhi on Saturday against the shirtless protest staged by Youth Congress workers during the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.Led by BJYM city president Rajat Jaiswal and district president Aman Sonkar, the protesters carried out a procession and burnt the effigy of the leader of the opposition. During the demonstration, BJYM submitted a memorandum addressed to the president to ADM City Alok Verma. Jaiswal slammed Congress leaders, saying they damage India’s image, citing Gandhi’s comments during his foreign visits. Sonkar said the incident at the international summit was “condemnable and shameful”, especially as global leaders and industrialists were present.
