BJP violating prohibitory orders in Panaji: Congress

Margao: Congress on Friday accused BJP of violating Section 163 of the BNSS, which prohibits public gatherings, after the ruling party organised a procession in Panaji to welcome its national president Nitin Nabin to Goa.The prohibitory orders were imposed due to a planned protest by Chimbel villagers who have opposed the proposed Unity Mall. After the order was issued, villagers relocated their demonstration to Old Goa.Opposition leaders demanded clarification from govt, alleging selective enforcement of the law. State Congress sresident Amit Patkar criticised the BJP’s actions as dictatorial and called on the North Goa collector to arrest Nabin and state BJP president Damodar Naik for the violation.
