Patna: The BJP has lined up programmes and made special preparations to make the public aware of the main features of the Union Budget, to be presented in Parliament on Sunday.“The aim is to inform the public about the schemes and encourage them to take advantage of them, so that govt resources can be utilised to the maximum extent,” BJP state media incharge Danish Eqbal said on Saturday.
He added that district-level programmes will be organised from Feb 2 to 10, during which union and state ministers, MLAs, MPs and public representatives will hold discussions on the Budget in all districts.He said the party’s objective behind this campaign is to ensure that the Budget is not just a declaration but directly connects with the lives of common people. “This arrangement has been made across the country,” he added.Arrangements have also been made at the divisional level to watch and listen to the Budget speech by the Union finance minister in Parliament on Feb 1. BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi will be present in Darbhanga, while deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha will be in Patna and Muzaffarpur, respectively. Agriculture minister Ram Kripal Yadav will participate in the programme in Bhagalpur and assembly Speaker Prem Kumar in Gaya.A team comprising former MLA Prem Ranjan Patel, MLA Manoj Sharma, spokesperson Preeti Shekhar, along with Eqbal himself, has been formed for this purpose.
