Lucknow: BJP‘s Sarojininagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh paid a courtesy visit to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. Birla is in the city for the All India Presiding Officers’ Conference.Sharing details of the interaction on his X account, Rajeshwar Singh said under Om Birla’s leadership the Lok Sabha has set new benchmarks in legislative productivity. He highlighted the efficient time management of House proceedings, the swift yet well-structured passage of Bills, and the depth and balance reflected in parliamentary debates as hallmarks of the Speaker’s inclusive, rule-based and result-oriented approach. Singh noted that the vision of a digital parliament was effectively realised during Birla’s tenure. He cited major reforms such as e-Parliament, paperless functioning, AI-enabled multilingual translation, real-time transcription, and integrated digital databases, stating that these initiatives significantly enhanced transparency, accessibility, inclusiveness and accountability in parliamentary functioning.
Singh said that Om Birla embodies deep parliamentary wisdom, unwavering ethical standards and a steadfast commitment to democratic values and national interest.
