BJP has become people’s first choice across the country: PM

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the country’s trust in BJP was renewed during the past one and a half years, leading to a saffron surge in the country.Speaking at an event in Assam’s Kaliabor on Sunday, the PM said just a couple of days ago, the people of Maharashtra delivered a decisive mandate to BJP in the civic body polls, including in Mumbai, which was once a Congress bastion. He said the BJP’s victory in BMC polls was being celebrated even in Assam.

Modi said BJP’s mayor was elected recently for the first time in Kerala’s capital, Thiruvananthapuram, and even after 20 years, the public gave record votes to BJP in Bihar, reflecting a renewed saffron surge in the country.“Today BJP has become the first choice of people across the country. For the past one and a half years, the country’s trust in BJP was continuously increasing. Recently, elections were held in Bihar. There, even after 20 years, the public gave record votes to BJP. Record seats were won. Just two days ago, the results of civic body elections in major cities of Maharashtra came. Mumbai, which is one of the world’s largest corporations, its people gave BJP a record mandate for the first time,” Modi said.Audiences present at the event in Kaliabor started shouting glory to BJP, as Modi became emotional about how the saffron surge in Maharashtra influenced people in Assam. “In Kerala, BJP’s mayor was elected for the first time in the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram. The mandate of all the election results that came in recent times is clear. The country’s voter today wants good governance, wants development. They focus on both development and heritage. That’s why they prefer BJP,” Modi said.At the same time, Modi said there was one more message from these elections — the country was continuously rejecting ‘Congress’s negative politics’.“In the Mumbai city where Congress was born, it has today become the 4th or 5th ranked party. In Maharashtra, where Congress ruled for years, Congress has completely shrunk. Congress has lost the country’s trust,” Modi said.
