Prayagraj: In view of the 2027 state assembly polls, the top district BJP functionaries are running from pillar to post to strengthen booth management by holding camps at all 5,145 booths. With Feb 6 (last date for adding names) fast approaching, a team of 10 party workers is taking up a door-to-door campaign at all booths in the Mahanagar, Trans-Ganga and Trans-Yamuna pockets of the district.Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has also asked party workers to spend their entire time at booths to get form 6 filled in order to add more names. Maurya has set the target to register a bigger triumph in the 2027 assembly polls compared to 2017. He asked party workers to approach the masses with the highlights of the 2026-27 Budget.Party spokesman Rajesh Kesarwani told TOI, “A team of 10 party workers is assigned to collect form 6 (to add names in the voters list) and form 7 (for correction) from households at each and every booth”. He added, “Every party worker is assigned a role and responsibility to add maximum names at his/her booth”. Kesarwani said, “Targets were set for workers to conduct a large-scale campaign to get at least 50 names of eligible voters on or before Feb 6”.Senior party functionary Vivek Mishra said, “After the names of deceased, displaced, duplicate and absent voters were removed from the published draft list, party workers are running from pillar to post to ensure that no eligible person’s name is left out due to inability to submit necessary documents.”He said booth-level workers thoroughly studied the published voter list and ensured door-to-door visits to contact eligible voters, register objections before Feb 6, and assist them in filling out and submitting the forms along with necessary documents. He, however, said that printouts of the published list were also provided to workers at the booth level.Teams from all fronts and cells are also assisting booth-level workers to review the list with the booth-level officials (BLOs) and contact eligible voters who were left out to ensure that necessary steps are taken to get their names added.
