Bihar Police Week celebrations begin in Patna

Patna: The Bihar Police Week celebrations began on Sunday with the inauguration ceremony held at Mithilesh Stadium, Patna, by deputy CM and home minister Samrat Choudhary.The weeklong event, which started in 1958 and was held annually since 2007, aims to raise awareness of social issues and promote community engagement. The programme includes various events such as street plays and painting competitions on social issues, friendly cricket and football matches, dog squad and mounted police displays, and police band performances.

Various districts will also organise awareness programmes on women’s empowerment, anti-narcotics, and women’s safety, including ‘prabhat pheri’, bike shows, cycle rallies, marathons, and essay and debate competitions. Students from local schools and colleges will participate, and winners will be awarded.The police will also focus on cleanliness, with a cleanliness drive at all police stations and outposts. Three best-maintained police stations in each district will be awarded.The event also includes blood donation camps and joint community engagement programmes with SSB in districts bordering Nepal. The goal is to build trust and cooperation between the police and the public.
