Berhampur schoolgirl gets lucky, meets PM at Pariksha Pe Charcha

Berhampur: Brinda Rani Panda, a Class IX student of KC Public School here, was among 37 students selected from across the country to have interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha, held at New Delhi on Jan 25.Brinda, the daughter of a police officer, was the only student from Odisha who got the opportunity to engage in the discussion with the PM on exam tips.Brinda is also one among the Super 100 winners of Project Veer Gatha, jointly organised by the ministries of education and defence. She was given Rs 10,000 in cash, a medal and a certificate as award in ceremony at New Delhi, after her painting about great Indian warriors who sacrificed their lives for the nation, selected in the secondary stage (classes IX and X) at a function held at New Delhi the same day.“I felt like a dream come true when I met with Prime Minister” she recalled her experience. Brinda said she greeted the Prime Minister with Jai Jagannath. He immediately responded with the same and inquired about her home state.During the session, she posed a question to the Prime Minister in writing regarding managing time before the exam. “To my surprise, he grasped the essence of my query and provided a detailed response to it, which I will follow rest of my life,” she said.He advised that a list of important works be prepared on a priority basis for the next day before going to bed. Accordingly, to perform the tasks the next day and evaluate the performance of the day before going to bed and prepare the tasks for the next day, she said. “He replied to my query and explained very well within five minutes,” she said.Brinda was selected after she applied online and asked questions about the skills in demand in future which would help to generate employment and economic growth. On Veer Gatha 5.0 award, AK Mishra, school principal said the process was started from August last year. She took around four days to prepare the painting. It was selected for an award, she said. “We are very much happy as Brinda, the only student from the state to win an award in Veer Gatha in the secondary stage and to participate in Pariksha Pe Charcha” , Mishra added. After visiting Rastrapati Bhawan and attending the Republic Day parade in Kartyaba Path on Jan 26, she returned to Berhampur.
