Bengaluru: Prestige Group has entered into a definitive agreement with BMRCL to invest Rs 120 crore to adopt and co-brand the Bellandur Metro station.The station is part of the under-construction Blue Line of Namma Metro, connecting KR Pura and Silk Board. As per the agreement, the station will be renamed ‘Prestige Bellandur Metro Station’. BMRCL set a deadline of Dec 2026 to open the 17km elevated Metro corridor along the Outer Ring Road.Under the agreement, Prestige Beta Projects Private Limited will undertake station upgradation and enhancement works, provide infrastructure support, and hold partnership rights for a 30-year concession period.Prestige will retain naming rights during the period. The agreement also grants 3,000 sqft of commercial space within the station, 1,000 sq ft of advertising entitlement, and provision for a future elevated connectivity bridge to Prestige Lakeshore Drive, a tech park project.Juggy Marwaha, CEO and executive director, Prestige Group, told TOI: “This is our city. It has given us everything, and this is our way of giving back — by supporting and strengthening the mass transit system and urban infrastructure. Bellandur station is located in the heart of the Outer Ring Road corridor, where nearly 80 million sqft of office space is concentrated. It is also strategically located close to our upcoming park, Prestige Lakeshore Drive. The idea is to ensure that commuters using Metro can seamlessly access our park and enjoy an experience comparable to global standards.”He said, “We are investing close to Rs 120 crore in total — around Rs 80 crore will go to Metro, and Rs 40 crore will be allocated for station upgradation and enhancements.”In the past, under an innovative financing scheme of BMRCL, Infosys Foundation, Biocon, and Delta Electronics funded the construction of three Metro stations on the Yellow Line at Konappana Agrahara, Hebbagodi, and Bommasandra, respectively.MSID:: 128645979 413 |
