“Forgive me, Papa … I can’t bear anymore. I am being forced to hang. Your compulsions about my marriage are not tolerate now, we know how much dowry you are not able to give, so it is my compulsion to take this step”
She was to be married on April 29, before that Tilak was to be held on 18 April, but the groom’s side suddenly demanded Rs 5 lakh. Poor father was unable to raise this amount despite millions of efforts. The daughter felt her helplessness and finally swung from the noose.
The girl was studying BA and DLED. He always wanted to become the support of his parents, due to poverty, his marriage was decided to a young man who had only studied till class 8. Despite this, the groom side asked for a dowry and when the family expressed his inability, the daughter began to feel suffocated.

In his last letter, he blamed the boy and his father’s name and blamed him for his death. Every word recorded in the suicide note was shouting and describing the bitter truth of the society, where daughters are still considered a burden and the marriage looks like a dialect.
