BCA poll officer assures free and fair election

Vadodara: Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) election officer Varesh Sinha on Friday assured the Royal Satyamev Jayate Group that the elections will be conducted in a free and fair manner. Sinha also pointed out that the election date and venue were decided by the BCA apex council on Jan 3.“The notice for the election of BCA for the term 2026-29 was notified by Hon. Secretary, BCA by releasing an advertisement in all the newspapers as well as by sending a notice to each member by courier. The BCA office informed that no objection was received during the apex meeting/notification. It was approved in the apex council meeting, without any objection,” Sinha said in his reply. The Royal Satyamev Jayate Group objected to the poll venue at Ram Baug, arguing that it was under the control of one of the election candidates from the Revival Group. “Some members of the Royal Group were a part of the apex council when this decision was taken. Why didn’t they object to the date and poll venue at that time?” questioned a member of the Revival Group.Sinha also said in his reply that the election venue will be taken over by the electoral team 2 days prior to the polling day to prevent any unauthorised entry. He added that due care was taken to remove the names of deceased BCA members on receipt of proper documentary proof.
