Party functionaries from Baramati claimed that Ajit Pawar had called Shrijeet Patil, a party worker and distant relative, barely 10 minutes before the crash. The recording purportedly captured Ajit Pawar explaining how he selected candidates for the zilla parishad elections to ensure representation for all communities.“The call recording reflects Ajitdada’s inclusive approach and his belief in taking every community along,” Shrijeet Pawar said, adding that he had messaged Ajit Pawar regarding certain candidate selections, following which the late leader returned his call. “He called back to explain his decision, just about 10 minutes before the crash,” he said.
