Patiala: Punjab education minister Harjot Singh Bains paid a surprise visit to the School of Eminence at Bhadson in Patiala district Tuesday morning and reviewed ongoing infrastructure development works. He also assessed the quality of education and facilities under the ongoing ‘Punjab Sikhya Kranti’.During a tour of the school premises, the minister reviewed the progress of infrastructure upgrades and interacted with students to take first-hand feedback on academic standards and amenities available in the school.
He also reviewed the construction of Rs 90-lakh indoor sports complex, featuring two kabaddi mats and a wrestling mat, with a seating capacity of 2,000 persons. Bain said the Punjab govt’s education policy placed equal emphasis on intellectual growth and physical development.“Education is the paramount priority of the Bhagwant Mann govt. Our Schools of Eminence are not just buildings, these are incubators for future leaders and professionals,” said the minister. “The trend of students migrating from private institutions to govt schools is a resounding endorsement of our policies and the quality education being delivered.”The minister further said: “There is and will be no dearth of funds for education. Investing in our students is investing directly in the future of Punjab and the nation.”Principal Preetinder Ghai informed the minister that the school recorded an 11% rise in enrolment this academic year, with over 200 students shifting from private schools, reflecting growing parental confidence in the govt education system.Ghai also said more than 400 students availed transport facilities through six school buses, indicating the institution’s expanding reputation as a centre of excellence.MSID:: 128156420 413 |
