Prayagraj: Students of Allahabad University (AU) conducted outreach programmes in neighbouring Kaushambi district to promote awareness of environmental conservation, family planning and public health, reinforcing the university’s commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.In one such programme, students from the department of geography led an awareness drive in Saidanpur village, sensitising residents about environmental protection, sanitation and sustainable living. Faculty members Kiran Kumari Singh, Nitin Kumar Mishra, Desh Deepak Singh, Mahvish Anjum, Aarti Kumari and Tania Debnath mentored the students. Department head Prof Ashwajeet Chaudhary lauded the initiative. As part of its outreach mission, the university adopted 5 villages in Kaushambi for sustained social and cultural development. Meanwhile, the department of family and community science organised a family planning awareness programme in Saidanpur and Kothari Paschim villages of Kaushambi.
