Mapusa: An unnatural death (UD) case has been registered at the Colvale police station after the sudden death of assistant sub-inspector Sarika Naik, 58, a resident of Guirim, in the early hours of Sunday. Naik was attached to î –the foreigners’ detention centre in Mapusa.The incident occurred after she completed a deportation assignment in Mumbai. Police said she had travelled with a team to deport a Nigerian national. The team returned to Goa by train on Feb 21, got down at Tivim railway station and hired a taxi to report to their office.At the Tivim railway station junction bus stop, Naik complained of giddiness. She was rushed to North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa, where she was declared brought dead. The body was shifted to GMC for postmortem. tnn
