Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu on Friday held a coordination meeting with power developers to review progress on key hydropower projects in Dibang Valley district.The projects included 3097 MW Etalin Hydroelectric Project (HEP) and 680 MW Attunli HEP under implementation, along with the Emini 500 MW and Mihumdon 400 MW, which are under survey.
With a total planned capacity of 5097 MW, discussions focused on timelines, clearances, and ensuring development supports local welfare, infrastructure growth, and national energy security, Khandu wrote on X.Slated to be India’s largest hydroelectric project, the 3097 MW Etalin HEP on the Dri river in the district will commence soon, he wrote.The project is being developed by SJVN Ltd.Khandu added that the project represents a transformative initiative that will accelerate infrastructure growth, generate employment, boost local livelihoods and strengthen India’s energy security.Later, the CM, accompanied by legislators and officials, visited the project site along the Roing-Anini highway and received a detailed briefing from SJVN officials.
