Ludhiana: A family in Sherewal village, which says it has lost all its sons to drugs, continues to demand the arrest of a woman, who, they allege, supplied drugs to the person who allegedly provided them to their last remaining son, Jasvir Singh. Jasvir’s body was found on Jan 14. The family believes the arrest of the woman, described by them as a “peddler,” would help curb drug trade in the area to some extent. Police said they are making efforts to arrest her and indicated that she may be in a neighbouring state.Sidhwan Bet police booked Harpreet Singh of Sherewal village and Kulwinder Kaur of Malsihan for culpable homicide not amounting to murder after Jasvir’s body was found near a canal path in Sidhwan Bet area.
