Lucknow: Around 80 senior advocates were honoured by the Tax Bar Association (TBA) at an advocate felicitation ceremony in Vipin Khand, Gomti Nagar, for their long-standing contribution to the legal profession.Advocates, who completed 25, 30, 35, 40 and more than 40 years in legal practice, were felicitated with mementoes and shawls. Special honours were given to Gopal Narayan Malhotra, Jagdish Kumar, Ashok Srivastava, Alok Kumar Singh, Shri Yadav and Sudhir Kumar Srivastava for completing over 50 years in the legal profession.The programme was attended by senior judicial officers, including Santosh Kumar, judicial member, goods and services tax appellate tribunal (GSTAT), Lucknow bench, Santosh Srivastava, judicial member, GSTAT, Narendra Kumar, judicial member, GSTAT, and Ramesh Chandra, Chairman, state tax tribunal, Lucknow.Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that advocates play a vital role in strengthening democracy and ensuring justice for citizens. He added that the dedication and integrity of lawyers form the backbone of the legal system.TBA president Sanjay Mitra said the association felt proud to honour its senior members, while general secretary Shiv Kumar Pandey thanked guests and members for their support in making the event successful.
